Upper Secondary Education (Lycée)

Upper secondary education caters to students aged 15 to 18 and prepares them for higher education or vocational training. This stage is divided into two main streams: general and technological. The general track (Lycée général) offers a broad range of subjects such as mathematics, literature, foreign languages, sciences, philosophy, and social sciences, leading to the Baccalauréat (Bac) examination, which is a prerequisite for university admission. The technological track (Lycée technologique) focuses on specialized subjects related to fields like sciences, economics, social sciences, or technology, and also culminates in the Bac examination.
