The Danielle Mitterrand French School of Erbil is proud to offer Nursery services. The school’s Nursery, or Crèche in French, accepts toddlers 18-months to 3 years old, and offers them a learning through play environment. The young toddlers are cared for by trained professionals in French and English, with Kurdish and Arabic assistants for their comfortable adaptation. Children are engaged in fun learning activities, fostering their language, motor, and social skills. The program also supports busy parents as all meals, snacks, and toiletries are provided at the school!
The French Crèche (nursery) offers two sections: the Petits Choux Section (18-24 months old) and the Toute Petite Section (24-36 months old). Our curriculum focuses on providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for infants and toddlers, and aims to support their holistic development across various domains, including physical, cognitive, social, and emotional aspects. It emphasizes the importance of providing a safe and caring atmosphere where young children can explore, learn, and develop at their own pace.
The curriculum typically includes age-appropriate activities that promote sensory exploration, motor skills development, language acquisition, and social interaction. It involves engaging the children in play-based learning, music, storytelling, and creative activities to foster their imagination and self-expression. Learning in both sections is centered around becoming more autonomous, respecting the rules of community living, building social, communication and motor skills, developing creativity by building small objects and handling different materials, discovering the world around them, expressing themselves, discovering their five senses, and language development especially in French.
Additionally, the curriculum emphasizes the establishment of routines, such as mealtimes and nap times, to support the child’s overall well-being and sense of security.
Overall, the curriculum of our Crèche strives to create a nurturing and enriching environment that supports the unique needs and development of young children during their early years.
